In this episode, I spoke with Dr. Michael Fevola, Vice President of Global R&D at INOLEX, a North American ingredient manufacture focused on innovation and expanding on it’s green and natural portfolio. Mike has over 20 years of industry experience, including as research director and fellow at Johnson & Johnson, holds 24 patents, and completed his Ph.D in Polymer Science and Engineering. He was the perfect person to take as through the topic of polymers in cosmetics, heavily used with so much variability. In this episode, we talked about what polymers are, the many uses of polymers in cosmetics, polymer examples, innovation and lot’s more. Since polymers are so heavily used, having an understanding of what they are will go along way to developing your skills as a formulator and understanding your beauty products.
